All lanes of I-84 eastbound are closed at Northeast 33rd Avenue Sunday morning due to “police activity,” according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

All eastbound traffic was being diverted toward the Northeast 33rd Avenue exit. The eastbound onramp off Northeast Cesar Chavez Boulevard appeared to be open less than a mile east of the police blockade.

According to the transportation department, the freeway was expected to remain closed for several hours.
