PENDLETON — McKay Creek Elementary School is hiring a new first-grade teacher to address an uptick in the number students enrolled to attend in the fall.

“McKay Creek Elementary, because it is smaller, has only two teachers per grade level, which is half the size of Washington and Sherwood elementary schools,” said Matt Yoshioka, director Of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Pendleton School District. “There’s little room for flexibility when you get a bubble group of students, like what’s happening right now.”
