Juvenile Suspect 17-year-old male | Eugene, Oregon

NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
On October 4th, 2022, at 10:53 PM Springfield Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the 6100 block of Graystone Loop in Springfield regarding a male victim, Torkelson, who had a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital, but later succumbed to his injures.
Springfield Police Department Detectives were called to the scene and located evidence that indicated that the victim’s death was a homicide. They worked endlessly throughout the next several days and were able to identify three suspects involved.
On October 5th, 2022, the Juvenile Suspect was located in Corvallis, Oregon and apprehended. The Juvenile remains in custody. Information was learned through interviews and investigation that the additional two suspects, Freeman & Bell, fled the state. Working with multiple agencies, detectives were able to confirm that Freeman and Bell had fled to Denver, Colorado. On October10th, 2022 the two suspects were contacted by Denver Police and again attempted to flee, this time on foot, but were captured blocks away without incident. Springfield Police Detectives travelled to Denver and worked with Detectives there to continue the investigation. At this point,the investigation is ongoing. CHARGES:
All three suspects are being held on charges involving the crimes of Murder II and Robbery I. The two suspects currently in custody in Colorado will be held pending extradition.
