At 5:30 p.m. on August 1, Eugene Police received report of a stabbing victim outside a market at 58 W. 11th Avenue. An LTD security officer followed the suspect on foot while Eugene Police responded. One of the market’s employees provided emergency medical aid to the victim, a male aged 35, until Eugene Springfield Fire EMS arrived to take over. 

EPD patrol took the suspect into custody at 5:35 p.m., at 8th and Lincoln, with the aid of a taser, as the suspect was ignoring commands to stop and was potentially still armed. The suspect, Jeremy Daniel Kosydar, age 40, was charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. 

The case will be referred to the Lane County DAs office for any potential, additional charges.
