At 12:30 a.m. on December 15, Eugene Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Beltline and Norkenzie Road. A Toyota Rav 4 was reported to have been speeding eastbound on Beltline and then crashed into the back of a Toyota Prius, also traveling eastbound. There were no injuries reported but there was significant damage to the vehicles and about 75 feet of guard rail was destroyed. The Prius was estimated to have been pushed about 150-200 feet from the impact. 

Eugene Police investigated and upon contacting the driver of the Rav 4, suspected impairment. After further investigation, the driver, Worth Malcom Briggs, age 55, of Eugene, was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving. 

Eugene Police Patrol, Community Service Officers, and Oregon Department of Transportation helped streamline the response.
