Eugene Police’s Major Collison Investigation team made an arrest today in a January 2023 hit and run case involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred at 4:17 p.m. on January 3, 2023, at 6th Avenue and Lincoln. A female pedestrian, age 60, was struck crossing W. 6th Avenue on Lincoln by a vehicle that fled the scene west on W. 6th Avenue, possibly getting onto I-105 eastbound. The woman was transported to a local hospital with injuries, including a broken arm.
Today, subsequent to their investigation, EPD MCI arrested Jennifer Neely Higgins, age 46, of Salem. She has been charged with Hit and Run Injury and Reckless Driving. The Lane County District Attorney will review the charges in the case.
