HEPPNER — The Morrow County Board of Commissioners voted Wednesday, June 5, to approve geotechnical studies of the southeast Kinzua Mill site outside of Heppner to further determine if it is a feasible location for the new county courthouse.
Previously, the commissioners heard comments on the mill site, the Morrow County Fairgrounds site and a location in Boardman as possible spots for the courthouse. The courthouse is in Heppner, and many community members spoke out against moving the courthouse to Boardman.
