HEPPNER — The Morrow County Road Department has completed the chip seal resurfacing on 22 miles of the Blue Mountain Scenic Byway that runs through the Heppner and North Fork John Day ranger districts.

Umatilla National Forest in a press release reported while the chip seal is complete, the road department in August will apply striping to the resurfaced road. During that time, the public can expect periodic delays with flaggers and pilot cars managing traffic. There also will be signs at each end of the project and as needed in work zones.
