No deaths or serious injuries in what officials call a historic fire at Portland residential care facility

Twenty-two residents were rescued from Hope N Care, a residential care facility located in Southeast Portland, after a portion of the building burst into flames Wednesday, May 11, 2022. The call arrived at the emergency dispatch center at 1:06 a.m. Wednesday. A man yelled that “bunch of smoke and flames” was coming from the roof of a building in Southeast Portland.
