At 2:08 p.m., October 21, there was a protest at 405 E. 8th Avenue in Eugene. At about 3:15 p.m., an estimated 200 marchers concentrated in a city block began to a march. 

Shots were reported fired at 3:48 p.m. at 8th Avenue and Pearl Street. A counter protestor armed with a splatter ball gun fired into the crowd and immediately a couple of protestors armed with handguns drew their weapons. Very quickly, Eugene Police officers were able to quickly challenge all armed subjects, and all were detained without further issues. Charges for the man who fired the splatter ball gun are pending.  Case 23-15877
