PENDLETON — Leather and silver artist Jerry Van Amburg realized it was time to expand his skill set when he made a wallet from a crocodile hide and thought providing a plain metal snap would be underachieving.
“The leather came first by far, “ Van Amburg said. “What would happen is I’d make a really cool piece and the only option out in the world was a black or a round silver snap, and it broke my heart you know? So I started coming up with ideas to carve where you take a crocodile wallet and you put a crocodile head on the crocodile.”
