PENDLETON — Pendleton Outfitters has announced it will be closing its store on Main Street, Pendleton, ending retail sales, and transitioning to an adventure guide and outdoors education business. Pendleton Outfitters owner and founder Ryan Smith said said the change is due to struggling retail.
“I have tremendous respect for our local community and what I was aiming to bring forward, it,” he said. “Unfortunately, didn’t go the way we originally planned. I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got to try to move forward and continue to serve the community, just in a little bit of a different light.”
