PENDLETON — Thirty Umatilla County residents are learning how to turn seeds into supper through a free six-week home gardening course in Pendleton.

Master gardeners nationwide facilitate the Seed to Supper program, with each week covering a different aspect of cultivating homegrown produce such as soil preparation, seed starting, irrigation, pest and disease management and harvesting. The program seeks to educate the communities they serve with locally relevant gardening information vetted and approved by university extensions.
