  • NOTE A CHANGE: A RECREATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF UPPER KLAMATH LAKE IN KLAMATH COUNTY INCLUDING SHOALWATER BAY DUE THE PRESENCE OF A CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOM AND CYANOTOXINS ABOVE RECREATIONAL USE VALUES FOR HUMAN EXPOSURE. PEOPLE SHOULD AVOID SWIMMING AND HIGH-SPEED WATER ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS WATER SKIING OR POWER BOATING, IN AREAS OF THE LAKE WHERE BLOOMS ARE, AS THE MAJOR RISK OF EXPOSURE IS FROM INGESTING WATER. BLOOMS CAN DEVELOP AND DISAPPEAR ON ANY BODY OF WATER AT ANY TIME, EVEN IN THE FALL AND WINTER IF CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE. THE WEATHER PATTERN

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) down in the Four Corners area of the West is strengthening bringing us some more heat. The graphics for days 1-3 show no frontal systems moving through or into Oregon. The graphics for days 3-7 Saturday through Wednesday show no frontal activity over the Pacific Northwest through next Wednesday.
