AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM THURSDAY FOR THE COAST RANGE OF NORTHWEST OREGON, THE CENTRAL COAST RANGE OF WESTERN OREGON, THE LOWER COLUMBIA, THE GREATER PORTLAND METRO AREA, THE CENTRAL WILLAMETTE VALLEY, THE SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY, THE NORTHERN OREGON CASCADE FOOTHILLS, THE CASCADE FOOTHILLS IN LANE COUNTY, THE WESTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, AND THE CENTRAL COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE.
AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON FRIDAY FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY, EASTERN CURRY COUNTY AND JOSEPHINE COUNTY, JACKSON COUNTY, THE KLAMATH BASIN, NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY, AND WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

A PERMANENT RECREATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER AND MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER. THE ADVISORY COVERS THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER FROM CANYONVILLE DOWNSTREAM TO THE CONFLUENCE OF THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER, AND THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER DOWNSTREAM PAST ELKTON TO LAWSON BAR. PEOPLE IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED AT SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN

An Upper level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) Strengthens keeping us dry with colder nights. The graphics for days 1-3 show no fronts moving through the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7 for Friday through Tuesday show no active weather systems headed our way until next Saturday through Tuesday as a cold front slowly moves southward through Oregon.
