  • A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM TONIGHT FOR THE LOWER COLUMBIA, THE GREATER PORTLAND METRO AREA, THE UPPER HOOD RIVER VALLEY, THE WESTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, AND THE CENTRAL COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE.

  • A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM TONIGHT FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY, AND WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY, AND THE EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE OF OREGON.
  • A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 11AM UNTIL 11 PM TODAY FOR THE LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN OF OREGON.
  • A PERMANENT RECREATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER AND MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER. THE ADVISORY COVERS THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER FROM CANYONVILLE DOWNSTREAM TO THE CONFLUENCE OF THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER, AND THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER DOWNSTREAM PAST ELKTON TO LAWSON BAR. PEOPLE IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED AT SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN

  • The Upper Level Airflow is now Zonal (west to east) bringing cooler air and a front our way. The graphics for days 1-3 show a cold frontal system bringing cooler air to  Oregon today. The graphics for days 3-7   Thursday through Monday show no frontal systems moving into the Pacific Northwest through the period.

  • Patchy AM clouds, sunny and a bit cooler today, clear tonight,
  •  AM clouds, mostly sunny and cooler Tuesday, mostly clear in the evening, mostly cloudy late at night,
  • Some AM clouds, partly cloudy and a bit cooler Wednesday afternoon, then mostly clear Wednesday night.
