  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TODAY UNTIL 11 AM SUNDAY ABOVE 3,500 FT FOR THE NORTHERN OREGON CASCADES, THE CASCADES OF MARION AND LINN COUNTIES, AND THE CASCADES OF LANE COUNTY.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TODAY UNTIL 11 AM SUNDAY ABOVE 4,000 FT. FOR THE EAST SLOPES OF THE OREGON CASCADES.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM UNTIL 11 PM TODAY ABOVE 4,000 FT. FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON CASCADES, THE SISKIYOU MOUNTAINS, AND THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES.
  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM UNTIL 5 PM TODAY FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY AND WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM TODAY UNTIL 11 PM SUNDAY ABOVE 4,000 FT. THE OCHOCO, AND THE JOHN DAY HIGHLANDS.
  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM MDT UNTIL 6 PM MDT TODAY FOR HARNRY COUNTY.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) is approaching the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system sliding through Pacific Northwest early today. The graphics for days 3-7    Tuesday through Saturday show no frontal systems moving across the Pacific Northwest through the period, but one well to our Northwest next Saturday.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Mostly cloudy with rain and a bit cooler today, evening rain likely (70%), a good (50%) chance of rain tonight (0.10 in. of rain possible),
  • Mostly cloudy with AM rain likely (70%), showers likely (70%) and a bit warmer Sunday afternoon (under 0.10 in. of rain possible), showers at night (under 0.10 in. of rain possible),
  • Mostly sunny and a bit warmer with a good (50%) chance of showers Monday, showers likely (70%) with a slight (20%) chance of thunderstorms Monday night.
  • highs 53-56 lows 42-45 cooling to 40 Monday night.
  • A mix of clouds and sun with a good (50%) chance of showers and a bit warmer Tuesday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly clear late Tuesday night,
