HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

  • An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) takes over for warming, but not for long. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system moving through Oregon Wednesday with another right behind it. The graphics for days 3-7   Friday through Tuesday show no frontal systems pushing through the Pacific Northwest until a complex frontal system will be moving through Oregon between Saturday and next Sunday. Yet another front headed our way next Tuesday.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Sunny and a bit warmer today, mostly clear tonight,
  • Mostly sunny and cooler Wednesday, mostly cloudy at night,
  • A mix of clouds and sun and and a bit warmer Thursday, partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly clear late Thursday night.
  • highs 85-75 warming to 77 Thursday lows 52-53 cooling to 50 Thursday night.
  • Sunny and a bit warmer Friday, mostly clear in the evening, partly cloudy late Friday night,
  • Mostly sunny Saturday, mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) of evening showers, partly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers late at night,
