MINAM — The top of a large, dead tree fell onto two tents where a group of rafters was sleeping along a remote section of the Grande Ronde River early Wednesday, June 14, killing one person and injuring two others.
The section of tree, estimated at 14 inches in diameter, landed on two tents about 5:30 a.m., according to a press release from Union County Search and Rescue.
