At 10:21 a.m. on December 17, Eugene Police Patrol units were dispatched to McDonalds at 1580 Coburg Road after a call about a disorderly woman with a knife.
A woman, known to employees from prior issues, Tara Rochelle Hass Roberts, age 29, of Eugene, came through the drive through in a vehicle driven by another woman, and then came inside with a knife and began arguing with employees about an order.
Hass Roberts attempted to rob food from the business while menacing employees with the knife. She attempted to open the cash register before stabbing it with the knife. She fled in the car and an officer located the vehicle at a nearby apartment complex. Eugene Police Property Crimes Unit detectives were dispatched and responded. Hass Roberts left the location in the vehicle and units performed a successful stop and detained her and the other woman.
Hass Roberts was taken to Lane County Jail on charges of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, and Menacing. The other woman, Megan Lynn Roberts, age 28, of Eugene, was also arrested and lodged at Lane County Jail on a charge of Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, as she had previously been trespassed from the store.
