At 2:48 p.m. on December 8, Eugene Police responded to a report of a Toyota Corolla that crashed into a tree at Chambers Street and W. 2nd Avenue. Initially, Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the crash, and identified the driver as Tiffany Rose Barela, age 30, of Eugene. The Corolla had been a call for service after having been involved in a hit and run crash around W. 6th Avenue and Madison Street about four minutes before the crash on W. 2nd.
After an investigation, Barela was arrested and transported to Lane County Jail on charges of Driving under the Influence of Intoxicants and Reckless Driving. She was also cited for Driving without Insurance. 23-18452
