  • A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS IN EFFECT FOR DANGEROUS SNEAKER WAVES THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR THE CLATSOP COUNTY COAST AND THE TILLAMOOK COUNTY COAST.
  • A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS IN EFFECT FOR DANGEROUS SNEAKER WAVES THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST AND THE CURRY COUNTY COAST.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

  • An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) is strengthening and has taken over with warmer and dry weather. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal systems approaching the Pacific Coast Sunday. The graphics for days 3-7    Tuesday through Saturday show the frontal system that pushs through the Pacific Northwest next Wednesday.
  • Note: The Vernal Equinox takes place next Tuesday March 19th at 8:06 pm to begin the season of Spring.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Sunny and a bit warmer today, clear tonight,
  • Mostly sunny and a bit cooler Sunday afternoon (St. Patrick’s Day), mostly clear at night,
  • Some AM clouds, mostly sunny Monday afternoon, then mostly clear Monday night.
  • highs 73-72 lows 40-45.
  • Partly cloudy and a bit cooler Tuesday, partly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers Tuesday night (Vernal Equinox 8:06 pm, Spring Begins),
